MAPPING HARBORD VILLAGE: STORIES OF A NEIGHBOURHOOD

Dear Musings Guests,

We would like to cordially invite you to attend the opening of our student exhibitionMapping Harbord Village: Stories of a Neighbourhood on Tuesday November 26, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. It will be held at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre, Jacobs Lounge, 750 Spadina Avenue.

This exhibition is part of a special studies course, MSL5050H The Harbord Village Project: Curating Space, Memory, and Community, lead by Professor Irina D. Mihalache. We have been working on this project throughout the fall semester in partnership with the Harbord Village Residents' Association and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

The exhibition showcases the urban life of Harbord Village inspired by the memories of its residents. Their photographs and oral histories envoke the neighbourhood through three common themes: foodscapes, laneways, and porch life - which provide a glimpse into the daily life of Harbord Village.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

We thank you for your support and we hope to see you there!

Keely Bland, Adrienne Costantino, Ellen Hlozan, Brian Joe, Melissa Smith, and Hilary Walker
