WHAT'S HAPPENING WEDNESDAY: FROM MAC & CHEESE TO EVERYTHING DESIGN

WHAT'S HAPPENING WEDNESDAY

BY: KATE SEALLY

Welcome to Wednesday, folks! There are lots of exciting things going on, and if you're anything like me then the hardest part is finding the time to participate in them! In addition to the events listed below, don't forget that today is #museumselfie Day. So tag your photos on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

1. Slow Food: Craft Macaroni and Cheese, February 3rd at 6:30 pm

This event is part of the Conscious Consumption: Crafting the City series and is hosted by the Campbell House Museum. This instalment seeks to contrast 'slow food' and fast food, and involves sampling food prepared by culinary historian Liz Driver.

Location: Campbell House Museum, 160 Queen St. W, Toronto
Cost: 20$ (purchase tickets here)
Date: Wednesday, February 3rd at 6:30 pm

2. Inspired By Light: Making the Aga Khan Museum, January 28, 1:00 pm

Next Thursday, January 28th at 1:00 pm, the Aga Khan Museum is hosting a lecture on the design choices that were made during its construction. The lecture is included with museum admission and tickets will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. This event seems almost tailor-made for a bunch of museum studies students or alumni!

3. The Toronto Design Offsite Festival

As part of this festival, which aims to "take design out of the studio and into the city," many events are happening this weekend! Some of the ones that caught my eye are the Blindfolded Walking Tour as well as the Do Design Tour (a guided overview of some of the event's installations). Check out the full event schedule to see what's going on near you!

4. The Power Plant's Winter Opening Party, January 29, 8:00 pm

Finally, next Friday at 8:00 pm, the Power Plant is hosting its Winter Opening Party. To celebrate the exhibitions that will be on view this winter and spring, the Power Plant is hosting a free party! (don't get too excited - it's a cash bar). To get a chance to be one of the first people to see the Power Plant's winter line up, you can RSVP here and check out the details here.

That's all folks! Enjoy your week, and I hope you can find the time to make it out to these wonderful events!
